Introducing Play&Co(nversations) — An Idea Incubator for Bold Visionaries

Every user journey, every user interaction, and every opportunity to provide a better user experience reflects our knowledge, awareness, and values at Play&Co. Consequently, we have the privilege - and the burden - of wielding more influence than ever before.

Which is why today, we’re proud to announce the launch of Play&Co[nversations] — an idea and conversation incubator for bold visionaries to share thoughts about the future and how we, as designers, can create the one in which we want to live in.

When Karen and I started Play&Co, we were coming off of one of the most rewarding and memorable periods of our professional careers. During our travels abroad, we gained experience in world-class design studio environments with Teague, Boeing, and Philips. As we worked on some of the world's smallest products - headphones - to some of the largest - airplanes - we constantly encountered global talent and learned the mechanics of collaborative design. Ultimately, every brilliant design decision was based on one consistent factor: conversation - and most importantly, connection.

Even though we had had a lot of “conversations” in the past throughout our professional and personal lives, these felt different: all of us involved in the project united over a clear vision for the future; a future filled with optimism and creative problem-solving, paired with a healthy dose of chaotic punk rock mentality to just get shit done. Great design isn’t a matter of standing on your own - it’s the product of conversations, connections, and a whole lot of collaboration.

As we launch Play & Co[nversations], we hope to continue carrying that torch - the torch of optimism and creative problem solving. A torch to pass between the bold visionaries as we navigate our way through potentially unsettling global climate, but one that is still beautiful and full of potential. A torch as an expression of our desire to share thoughts about the future and create a world we all want to live in.
